BRIEF HISTORY
The Boone County Fitness Center was a gift given to the community by James and Elaine Wolf. The original facility opened in December 1984 with an addition completed in March of 2002. The facility now boasts having a fully equipped cardio and weight room, basketball court, spinning room, yoga studio, sauna, hot tub, heated indoor swimming pool, and an indoor track. The facility also offers group fitness classes. It is a wonderful place to take your family!

The facility now boasts having a racquetball court, fully equipped cardio and weight room, basketball court, dance room (coming soon), spinning room, yoga studio, sauna, hot tub, heated indoor swimming pool, and an indoor track. The facility also offers group fitness classes. It is a wonderful place to take your family!

JAMES AND ELAINE WOLF
Jim & Elaine Wolf loved Albion and Boone County. They built the Boone County Fitness and donated it to the community that meant so much to them. They believed in the importance of exercise and recreation. They also believed small towns need amenities to improve quality of life, just like anywhere else. It gave them the greatest pleasure to see how much the Fitness Center was used and how it has become an important part of the lives of its members. Jim owned and managed Wagonhammer Cattle Company. He helped build it into a nationally known producer of Angus seedstock. Jim & Elaine were active in many local organizations including the Boone County Foundation, the Good Samaritan Nursing Home & Assisted Living Facility, Girl Scouts, Albion Public Schools Board, Albion Country Club, and Book Club, among others. They enjoyed helping make their community a better place.
